Christos K. Margiotis

CHRISTOS K. MARGIOTIS FLORENCE, SC CHRISTOS K. MARGIOTIS passed away in the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia from a terminal illness. Christos was born in the Xorio of Sella, state of Evrytania, Greece. He was one of 6 children of the late Konstantinos and Maria Margiotis. Christos came to New York in 1956 at age 8. He grew up mainly in Queens and graduated from high school there. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the US Army and went to fight in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. He was promoted to Sergeant and received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle. Upon returning home, he met his wife, Angeliki Kartsonis. They wed in 1972, and had 2 children, Maria and Constantinos. They moved to Florence on December 7, 1989, where Christos operated the Palmetto Restaurant for 19 years. Christos was a very hard worker, a dedicated husband and father and grandfather. Christos leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, his 2 children, 3 grandchildren, Demetrios, Elias and Elizabeth, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, Aunt and Uncle, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be forever missed, and may his memory be eternal. A viewing and visitation will be held at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday, December 13, 2013. Additional viewing will be in Frederick Funeral Home, Flushing, Queens, NY, followed by interment in Flushing Cemetery.
