Cheryl Lee Montrose Hunter

nterCheryl Lee Hunter, 64, of Florence, South Carolina, peacefully passed with her family at bedside at McLeod Regional Medical Center on August 22, 2025.

Born on September 24, 1960, and raised in Florence County where she attended High School. Cheryl bled garnet and black as a devoted Carolina Gamecock Fan. You could easily find Cheryl tanning in her pool or on the beach.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Mary Margaret and Robert Montrose; mother, Mary Elizabeth “Bibber” Montrose; brother, Michael Montrose and son, Shane Hunter.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David Stanley Hunter; their children that she blessed him with, Angel, Darlene (John) and David Stanley “Bubba”, Jr. (Stephanie) and her brother, Otis.

Besides being a beloved mother, her favorite title was “Nanny” to Taylor (Paten and 3 great-grandchildren), Chris “Booboo” (Danielle), Brianna (Trent and one great-grandchild), Logan, Cody and Chase. She was loved dearly by her large family.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 noon at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
