Charles Mcroy Rogers

Charles McRoy Rogers, 72, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at home. Mr. Rogers was born in Horry County, a son of the late Dacey “Dick” Rogers and Grace James Rogers.He was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Rogers loved old cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and had a love/hate relationship with truck driving for 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Faye Turner Rogers; son, Chuck (Leigh) Rogers of Florence; daughter, Christi (Lavone) Rogers Conner of Effingham; grandchildren, Evanne, Gracen and Walker Rogers; brothers, Billy Rogers of Florence, Hayward (Conetha) Rogers of Timmonsville and Jimmy (Jane) Rogers of Effingham; sister, Kathy (Jobe) Lee of Florence and his canine companions, “Duke” and “Perry”. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Christian Assembly Church. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Christian Assembly Church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, P. O.
