Charles Linwood Jordan

CHARLES LINWOOD JORDAN Florence, SC Charles Linwood Jordan, 78, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in a local hospital after an illness. Mr.Jordan was born in Horry County, a son of the late Charlie H. Jordan and Eva Thompson Jordan of Conway. Mr.Jordan was a member of Southside Baptist Church and of the Pioneer Sunday School Class.He was also a former member of Mizpah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, K. W. Jordan and L. C. Jordan; and his sisters, Edna Mae Skipper, Betty Jean Hucks, Caroline Skipper and Elizabeth Calhoun. Survivingare his wife, Vernise Jordan; his daughters, Barbara (James) Gainey and Susan (Stevie) Johnson; two sons, Ronnie (Laurie) Jordan and Donnie (Tina) Jordan; eleven grandchildren,five great-grandchildren, four brothers, Ronald Jordan, Donald Jordan, Burnie Jordan and Alonzo Jordan; and a sister, Diane Martin. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Southside Baptist Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church.Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Florence National Cemetery with military honors.
