CHARLES LEVERN CONNER Effingham, S.C. Charles Levern Conner, 74, of Effingham, died Monday, October 4, 2010 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 8, 2010 in the Florence Baptist Temple. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Conner was born in Sumter, a son of the late Columbus Redman and Janie Morris Conner. He was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple and the Adult Sunday School Class. He had retired as a foreman with Asplundh Tree Company, and loved fishing and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Diane Capell Conner of Florence; his children; Danny Ray (Barbara) Conner of Florence and Lavone Wayne (Christi) Conner of Effingham; Step-Daughter, Terry Jones (Doug) Simmons of Darlington; brother, Gerald Conner of Darlington; Special Nephew, Sam Todd of Effingham, and a number of other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. Memorial contributions may be made to the Florence Baptist Temple, Music Department, 2308 S. Irby Street, Florence, S.C. 29505
