Charles Joseph Mcpherson, Sr.

Charles Joseph McPherson, Sr., 92, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Mr. McPherson was born a son of the late James Arthur McPherson and Chellie Adella Kirven McPherson. As a member of our greatest generation, he was US Marine veteran and served during WWII.Mr. McPherson was a lifelong farmer and a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his sons, Stevie McPherson (Bonnie) and their children and JoJo McPherson; sons-in-law, Mickey Haynes and Jimmy Sandifer; grandchildren, Shannon Haynes King (Lenny) and Eric Sandifer; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Emma King. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Martha Taylor McPherson; daughters, Dell Haynes and Betsy Sandifer; grandchild, Chellie Michelle Haynes; and six siblings. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at McPherson Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
