Charles Ray Adams

Charles Ray Adams, 72, of Florence, SC passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Mr. Adams was born in Marietta, NC a son of the late Ray Adams and Nellie Grace Walters Adams.He was a US Marine veteran having served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart.Charles was a volunteer fireman and retired from the City of Lumberton having worked as a police officer and in the maintenance department. Surviving are his wife, Juniene Neil Adams of Florence; step-sons, James McCutcheon and Neil McCutcheon, both of Florence; step-daughter, Danielle (Brian) Matthews of Florence; step-grandchildren, Hunter Matthews, Chase Matthews, and Tabitha McCutcheon; sisters, Gail Page of North Carolina and Barbara Nichols of Florida; and half-brother, Gene Walters of North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial with military honors will follow in the Florence National Cemetery with the family receiving friends immediately after the service at the cemetery.Due to Covid-19, masks and social distancing are requested.
