Cecelia DiLeo Wilson, 89, passed away April 8, 2019, after a brief illness while hospitalized at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Nancy DiLeo of Bayonne, New Jersey.She was a Majorette and a graduate of Bayonne High School, Wood Business College of New York City and also attended Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her sister, Johanna Costello of Camden, S.C and her husband, James R. Wilson.Together they had three children, namely Joanne W. Taylor (Larry) of Irmo, SC; Diane W. Weatherford (Bill) of Atlanta, Georgia and J. Robert ‘Skip” Wilson, Jr. (Judy) of Chapin, SC., six grandchildren – William B. Weatherford, Jr., Jessica W. Clark (Justin), Kelly A. Johnson (Melanie), M. BrittJohnson, James Robert “Jay” Wilson, III (Cassy), and Jonathan Reid Wilson; two great grandchildren, William Baker Weatherford, III, and Mera Wilson. Ceil and her husband Jim, moved to Florence in 1965, where she remained a life-long resident and raised their family. She was formerly employed by the Willcox, Buyck & Reynolds Law Firm for 31 years. After retirement, she volunteered at McLeod Regional Medical Center for twenty years and was honored as 2014 Volunteer of the Year. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and frequently shared her time and talents there. Ceil will be remembered for her love of family, friends and community. She loved playing bridge and was an avid reader.She also loved to travel and traveled the world extensively. Though she had been to many exotic places, she always looked forward to returning to her beloved Florence; her home town of which she was so proud. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Stoudemire-Dowling Funeral Home. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 13, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Hoffmeyer Road in Florence.Burial services will follow immediately at Mt.
