Cecile Cartrette Jones

Cecile Cartrette Jones, 89, widow of George Leverne Jones, both of Pamplico, S.C., was called home to the Lord 1:00 AM Thursday March 26, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 5, 1925 in Horry County S.C. to the late Henry T. Cartrette and Tee R. Dudley Cartrette. Educated in Horry County public schools, she began her career at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. She then moved back to South Carolina to gain employment with Southern Bell telephone company and retired from J.P. Stevens. Mrs. Jones was a member of Beulah Free Will Baptist Church.A dedicated mother of two, a grandmother, as well as a great-grandmother.She meant so much to so many people, she will forever be loved, cherished, and missed by everyone who's life she touched. Mrs. Jones survived by her two children, Glenda L. Jones and Judy Jones Lee (Dana); her Granddaughter, Erin L. Roland (Nathan); her Great-Granddaughter, Destiny Mariah Roland as well as several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam Cartrette, HT Cartrette and Dargan Cartrette; one sister, Mildred C. Graham and one very special Aunt, Estaleen Johnson. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery at Bazen’s Crossroads in Pamplico, S.C. directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Austin officiating. Memorials may be made to Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, 235 W. Bazen Road, Pamplico, SC29583.
