CARRIE M. GRIFFIN STOWE Florence, SC Carrie M. Griffin Stowe, 91, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at McLeod Hospice House. Ms. Stowe was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Luther L. Croft and Hattie King Croft.She was a member of the Wisteria Garden Club and the Swamp Fox VFW Post 3181.She was also a member of First Baptist Church.She was active in her support of her husband, Gordon H. Griffin, Past Potentate of the Omar Temple (1974). In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon H. Griffin, and her second husband, Robert L. Stowe, daughter, Linda M. Munn, her brothers, Walter “Red” Davis and Reynolds Davis, sisters, Mary Larger and Elizabeth Capell; three grandchildren, April Turner, Detra Munn and Wayne Turbeville; and two great-grandchildren, Caroline V. Munn and Kathleen “Katie” Fitch. Surviving are her son, John (Bonnie) H. Griffin of Effingham; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Andrew “Andy” Munn, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2013 in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
