Carolyn Hooks Courtney Florence, SC Carolyn Elizabeth Hooks Courtney, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Courtney was born in Horry County, SC a daughter of the late Vance and Margaret Cottle Hooks. She was a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dudley Courtney, who died January 13, 2010. Surviving are a sister, Lucille Hayes of Florence; nephew, Richard Britt of New Bern, NC. Memorials may be made to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, 2402 S. Irby Street, Florence, SC29505,to assist the family.
