CAROLJEANWILSON SNOWDEN, age 65, of Florence, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at her residence after an extended illness. Mrs. Snowden was born in Florence County, SC, a daughter of the late Lurline Lee Wilson and Leroy D. Wilson.She graduated from Southside High School and was a basketball player.She was a cosmetologistand caregiver for her family, friends and communitybefore pursuinga career in nursing. She received herLPNdegree from Florence General School of Nursing and was valedictorian of her class.She enjoyed a career with many medical facilities and was an instructor for CertifiedNursing Assistant Programs.Mrs. Snowden was a long standing member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of forty-sevenyears, Edward Keith Snowden; her daughters, Shanda Snowden Ward and Crystal L. Snowden, both of Florence;grandchildren, EdwardHunter (Lori) Capps of Nashville, TN,Blake St. Clare Capps, of Florence, Morgan Snowden (Chad) Rabon of Aynor, SC and Jonathon Kam Harrell of Florence;great grandchildren, Bransen Hunter Capps and Allie Celeste Warner, both of Nashville, TN , Blake Rabon and Bayler Rabon of Aynor, SC;a sister, Betty L Matthews of Broadway, NC; andbrother, John R. (Trudy) Wilson of Marietta, GA;mother-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Snowden Hicks of Florence; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
