C. "Sam" Norris

C. SAM NORRIS FLORENCE, SC C. SAM NORRIS, 66, of Florence, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Pee Dee Gardens. Mr. Norris was born in Rocky Mount, NC a son of the late Leaman Dozier Norris and Geraldine Barrett Norris. He was a US Marine Corps veteran having served during Vietnam and was a recipient of four Purple Hearts as well as many other service medals.He was a member of the Roman Catholic faith and received his Bachelor’s Degree and Law Degree from the University of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Leaman Norris. Surviving are his sister, Florence Hoffmeyer of Florence; brother, Stephen (Susan) Norris of Ocala, FL; two nieces and a close and beloved family friends, Alicia Gerald, Gail and Danny Wright, all of Florence. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in the Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 6:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
