Bruce Allard Hall

Rev. Bruce Allard Hall, 87, of Pamplico, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 26, 2014. Rev. Hall was born on September 17, 1926, in Conway, SC a son of the late Thomas Oscar Hall and Grace Anderson Hall. He was a graduate and president of the Conway High School Class of 1943. He was also a graduate of North Greenville University, Furman University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas, with a Master of Divinity. He was pastor of First Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church and Gethsemene Baptist all in Aynor, SC and retired as Pastor Emeritus of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Pamplico after nearly forty years of service. He was an active member of the Florence Baptist Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas O. Hall, Jr., John Hall and Cary Hall. Surviving are his devoted wife of 61 years, Margaret Ball Hall; daughter, Rebecca “Becki” Hall (Rodney) Poston of Pamplico; granddaughters, Anna Poston (Kevin) Todd of Florence and Stephanie Rebecca Poston of Pamplico; great-grandsons, K.C. and Kaden Todd of Florence; brother, James Carroll “Chuck” (Helen) Hall of Conway and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum in Florence, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence. Bruce Hall was loved by all he knew and never met a stranger. His purpose in life was to bring others to know Christ. Even in his last months, he continued to pass out cards with his life verse, “For I Know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Jeremiah 29:11. Flowers will be welcomed or memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church for the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
