Brenda Davis Poston

Brenda Davis Poston, 80, of Florence, SC, passed away August 18, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Cecil Davis and Ruby Finch Davis.

Brenda was a devoted member of Gospel Temple Church and also found great joy worshipping with Pastor Jim Deberry at The Palms. Her love for the Lord radiated through her joyful spirit and unwavering faith. A true lover of nature, Brenda found beauty in birds, flowers, and all living creatures. She was a gifted artist who expressed her passion through drawing serene scenes of the natural world. Known for her unconditional love and deep compassion, Brenda touched the lives of everyone around her. She was a CNA and cared for many patients as if they were her own family. She was a beautiful soul who loved to dance—and now, she dances in the sky with Jesus.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Poston; second dad, Walter Bescher; son, James “Jimbo” Willis Jr., granddaughter, Ambyre Willis; brother, Jerry Davis; nephew, Tee Campbell; grandson-in-law, Richard Nimtz; and first husband, James “Jimmy” Allen Willis.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Karl) Nimtz, Melynda Wearne and Tonjya Albright; grandchildren, Brandon Wearne, Crystal (Peris) Thompson, Jasmine Nimtz (Christian), Chance Nimtz, Tristyn Willis, Blaine Thompson, Tate Thompson, Riley Belle; brothers, Al (Jeannie) Bescher and Ray (Vera) Bescher; sisters, Melanie B. Miles and Carolyn (Travis) Campbell; nieces and nephews, Brandon (Mikki) Ammons, Freddie (Keisha) Ammons Jr., Shannon (Tracy) Campbell, Corey Campbell, Chris Bescher, Renee Cooke, Al (Dawn) Bescher Jr.; and many more dear family and friends including, William L. Sellers, Avis Wainright and Aimee Nimtz.

The family wants to give a huge thank you to all of the staff and her Palms family and all who cared for her at McLeod Hospital and Regency Hospital.

The family will receive friends and family from 9:00 – 10:00 AM Friday, August 22, 2025, at Gospel Temple with the service to follow at 10:00 AM.

Burial will be private.
