Bonnie D. Horton Florence, SC Bonnie D. Horton, 73, died early Sunday morning, October 10, 2010 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Horton was born in Camden, SC a daughter of the late Barney and Evie Parnell Dixon. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Daughter of the Nile and the Pee Dee Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary. She retired after more than 20 years with the Florence Municipal Airport. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Margaret Shoemake. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Harold Eugene Horton; 3 children, Vickie (Mark) Stewart of Andrews, Harold (Ann) Horton, Jr., and Charles Thomas "Chuck" (Jesseca) Horton both of Florence; 5 sisters, Ophelia Hayes, Eunice Player, Frances Caulder and Helen Threatt all of Camden, and Annette Gardner of Bethune; 2 brothers, Charles Dixon and Wallace Dixon both of Camden; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
