Bobby Eugene Sarvis

Bobby Eugene Sarvis, 89, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Mr. Sarvis was born the son of the late Nettie Mae and Oscar Sarvis. He was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a shipping superintendent from Stone Container after 39 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, of 42 years, Alda Etheridge Sarvis; his brothers, Billy, Danny, and David Sarvis; and sister, Joyce Ward.

Mr. Sarvis is survived by his wife, of 17 years, Betty Sarvis; daughters, Lisa (Ralph) Vinson and Tammy (John) Kirven; step-son, John (Susan) Holladay; step-daughter, Stephannie (Donnie) Kontowsky; grandchildren, Zachary (Anna) Vinson, Blake (Brook) Vinson, Taylor Broach, Bryce (Seraina) Broach, John Rogers Kirven, Jordan Holladay, Jacob Holladay, Amanda Kontowsky, and Robyn Kontowsky; great grandchildren, Amelia Vinson, Micah Vinson, and Elly Mae Broach; brother, Jimmy Sarvis; and sister, Jeanette Barnhill.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Florence Baptist Temple. Entombment will follow at Mount Hope Mausoleum.
