BLONNIE LEE RONEY LITTLE RIVER, SC Blonnie Lee Roney, 65, of Little River, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at a Florence hospital. Mr. Roney was born in Florence County, SC, a son of the late Jackson Lee Roney and Olwen Thomas Roney. He graduated from Francis Marion University and later attended seminary at Christ For The Nations in Dallas, Texas.He received his Doctorate Degree in Christian Counseling.Mr. Roney was a veteran of the US Marines.He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal of Service, and Combat Action Medal.Mr. Roney was an officer at Tabor City Correctional Institute, a current member of Grace Christian Fellowship in Little River and served as former Pastor at the Living Word Church in Chadbourn, NC, for twenty-five years. Surviving are his loving wife, Paula Vannoy Roney, of Little River, and her children, Heather Howard, Hannah Messer, Ian McPherson and Joel McPherson; granddaughter, Olivia Tucker; sisters, Sian (Roy) Chipleyof Florence, SC and Glynis (John) Lowrance of Greenville, SC; brother, Dylan (Paula) Roney of Denver, CO; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pauline and Melvin Vannoy of Bladenboro, NC; first cousin, James T. McBratney, Jr. of Florence, SC; aunt, Mary Margaret Weaver, of Florence, SC; and his Pekingese canine companion, Maggie Mae. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence of Sian and Roy Chipley on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, from 5:30 p.m.– 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Grace Christian Fellowship, P. O.
