BLANEY HARPER HOWLE, III FLORENCE, SC Blaney Harper Howle, III, age 77, left the world behind and now walks with his Savior on Streets of Gold.Mr. Howle passed away at his home on Sunday morning, November 11, 2012, while preparing a lesson for his Sunday School Class at Immanuel Baptist Church.He loved the Word of God and was a good steward of it. He was born in Florence County and attended Florence County Schools, graduating from McClenaghan High School in 1953.Mr. Howle retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad after 35 years of service as a clerk.He was a beekeeper and loved his bees.The honey he harvested was sought out by many local folks, so much that there was a waiting list.Mr. Howle loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and never shied away from telling anybody about a Man who died for them.He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and served on the Deacon board, including as Chairman.He also sang in the church choir and loved to sing. He also served as the Director of Men's Ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church.He was a faithful member and supporter of Promise Keepers.He served as Chairman of the Board of Palmetto First Federal Credit Union in years past, as well as continuing on its Board as an elected member.Mr. Howle was also known for his passion and love of cooking and baking. He is well-known throughout Florence County for his homemade pimento cheese, chicken salad, fruitcakes and baked breads.There were waiting lists for those too! He is predeceased by his parents, Blaney Harper Howle, Jr. and Lorraine Meisenheimer Howle and one daughter, Shannon Harper Howle. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Polly Tedder Howle, who he loved and cherished and cared for in sickness and in health.He is survived by three daughters:Scarlett Howle Shamblin (Robert), Lucy Allison Howle, and Emily Howle Jordan.They will all attest that their father nurtured and loved them from the time they were born until his death.He is also survived by five grandchildren:Brandon Harper Grove, Matthew Wright Jordan, Luke Foxworth Jordan, Jonathan Tedder Jordan, and Keena Jordan.They loved their "Papa". He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Howle Deas and Belinda Howle (Jerry) Bonnoitt and his sister-in-law, Jo Spears.He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Lulu. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Immanuel Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 306 West Cherokee Road, Florence, SC29501.
