Billy Matthews

Billy Matthews, 75, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Mr. Matthews was born a son of the late Era Irene Evans and Edward Matthews.He retired as a supervisor from Millwright Services of Florence. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two grandchildren, Alex and Andy Matthews, and sister, Betty Flores. Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria Matthews; sons, Bobby Matthews (Sheila) and Eddie Matthews (Tia); daughters, Billie Joe Hood (Jerry) and Susan Matthews; grandchildren, Dustin Matthews, Brandon Matthews (Brittany), Anthony Matthews, Sheridan Matthews, Beth Thomas, Tyler Thomas (Erica); great-grandchildren, Brady James Matthews and Abigail Thomas; brother, Danny Matthews; brothers-in-law, Rudy Flores, Teddy Evans (Kathy) and Larry Evans, and a number of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
