BETTY B. McKISSICK FLORENCE, SC Betty B. McKissick, 84, of Florence, went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. McKissick was born December 8, 1931 to the late Dallas and Eva Bennett.She was employed by Electro Motive and retired from Tomlinson Wholesale.She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Mars Bluff where she was involved in the UMW group and the W.M. Streett Sunday School Class.She had a love for sports, especially Nascar, and her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, and loved to watch the Atlanta Braves.Mrs. McKissick also had a passion for baking and was known for her pecan pies that she would bake for her friends and family in the Mars Bluff Community.She will be terribly missed by her family, but they know that they will all be reunited one day in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest W. McKissick; brothers, Ervin, Cletus and William “Bud” Bennett; mother and father-in-law, Ellie and Sophie B. McKissick. She is survived by two children, Ronnie (Patti) McKissick of Florence and Janice (Ken) Lamb of Lake City; grandchildren, Ryan (Felisha) Derrick, Wesley Derrick and Emily Grace McKissick, all of Florence; sister, Juanita Matthews of Marion; brother, Richard Bennett of Florence; brother-in-law, Herbert McKissick of Florence and several special nieces and nephews that she loved so much.She also had a special love for her grandogs.She looked forward to their visits and they loved her. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 5422 Old Marion Highway, Florence, SC29506. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Patti McKissick. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2016 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the special friends and caregivers in her life, Bobby and Ronda Brown, Barbara Crawford, Dorothy Cryan and the staff of Elmcroft Assisted Living for their love and care.
