Betty June Johnson Brown

September 16, 1929 — February 6, 2014

Betty June Johnson Brown, 84, of Florence, beloved mother, grandmother and valued friend to many, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 6, 2014. Mrs. Brown was born in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late B. V. Johnson and Maybelle Bussey Johnson.She retired as the co-owner of Family Fare Convenience Store and then worked with the Girl Scouts of America for a number of years.Mrs. Brown was a long-standing member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Brown, Sr.; her brother, Donald Richburg Johnson and her sister, Patricia Gail Johnson. Surviving are her son, Henry L. “Dick” Brown, Jr. and his wife, Jo, of Florence; her grandchildren, Billy Brown, Melissa Herman, Jessica Clark, Joshua Brown, and Justin Brown; her brothers, William Gary Johnson of Athens, GA and Michael Kern Johnson of Greenville; and her sisters, Rosemary Johnson Arvin of Florence, Joanne Johnson Anglin of Greenville, and Linda Johnson Kirk of West Columbia, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1021 S.
