Betty Dill Greene

BETTY DILL GREENE FLORENCE, SC BETTY DILL GREENE, 83, of Florence, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Methodist Manor. Mrs. Greene was born in Ansley, Nebraska a daughter of the late Luther Dill and Nellie Richards Dill.She graduated from Kearney State Teachers College and taught school in Nebraska until she moved to Florence. Upon moving to Florence, she worked for the Department of Social Services having retired in 1992 as the Director of Child Protective Services and had been a member of Central United Methodist Church since 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents and two children, Catherine Nell Greene and David Jeffrey Greene. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Frank J. Greene, Jr. of Florence; children, Frank J. (Dora) Greene, III of Mooresville, NC and Rebecca Greene (Donald Gray, Jr.) Hood of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, Katie Greene, Jonas Greene, Katherine (Peter) Mazzaroni and Amanda Hood; great-grandchildren, Addisyn Mazzaroni and Talon Mazzaroni. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 225 West Cheves Street, Florence, SC29501 or to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2013 at Central United Methodist Church.Private burial will follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Monday at the church prior to the service.
