Betty Jo Flowers Godwin

Betty Jo Flowers Godwin, 81, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Mrs. Godwin was born in Florence Co., SC a daughter of the late Freddie Flowers and Idell Norwood Flowers.She was a member of the Gospel Temple Worship Center and had worked for GE Medical.She took care of her parents during their illness, was a loving mother to all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Her favorite things were spending time with her family and shopping.She was an avid gardener who dearly loved flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Kent Godwin. Surviving are her son, Steve Godwin of Florence; daughters, Sandra Loostrom of Darlington, Brenda (Larry) Fraser of High Point, NC, Cathy Welch of Williamsburg, VA, Donna (Billy) Miles of Burlington, NC and Tracey (David) O’Neal of Lamar, SC; grandchildren, Adam (Jess) Loostrom, Ryan Loostrom, Alex (Kim) Loostrom, Bryan (Katherine) Fraser, Casey (Chris) Nelson, Holly Godwin, Juliann Godwin, Jennifer “Jenny” Martin, Patricia Miles, Charles (Kim) Miles, Billy Miles, and Louis Pavnick; 24 great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert “Bobby” (Donna) Flowers of GA. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, South Carolina Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd. Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Friday, April 13, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A celebration of life to honor Mrs. Godwin will be held at 5:30 PM Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel.A private committal will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
