BETTY ROSE REEVES GARDNER Lamar, SC Betty Rose Reeves Gardner, 85, of Lamar, SC passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 peacefully at home after an extended illness. Mrs. Gardner was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin Reeves, Sr. and Bessie Mae Ackerman Reeves.She retired after teaching 30 years of school and enjoyed teaching math.She was a former member of Tabernacle UMC and a current member of Elim UMC. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the UMC women circle.She loved her God, Church and family.She lived her life in the service of others.She talked the talk and walked the walk.She believed you are here to allow God to use you for His service. Her loves were her grandchildren, piano, and card ministry. In addition to husband, William Glenn Gardner, she was predeceased by her son, David Glenn Gardner, Grandson, Jamie Allen Andrews and brother, Joseph B. Reeves, II. Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie Gardner (George) Wilkes of Lamar; Grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Bullard, Carey Andrews, Emily (David) Jones, Jessica Wilkes (Chris Bedenbaugh), T. J. Wilkes, Christina Gardner, Chris (Kelly) Mims; Great-grandchildren, Zachary, Noah Reeves, Mallory Grace, Cameron, Chandler and Carstin Bullard,Amsley and Lawson Andrews, Jackson and Mason Jones, Tyler, Keegan and Caroline Mims; sister, Mary Ann Phillips of Fountain Inn, SC, sisters-in-law Marion Reeves of Chapin, SC and Irene Gardner of Florence. Funeral Services will be held at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM.Burial will follow at Tabernacle UMC Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
