Betty Earlene Allen Benton

Betty Earlene Allen Benton, 81, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015. Mrs. Benton was born in Effingham, SC, a daughter of the late Hartwell Drew Allen and Mattie Elizabeth Turner. She was a faithful member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and attended the Adult Sunday School Class. Mrs. Benton retired from Brendle’s. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton “Buddy” Benton, Sr.; sister, Anna Allen, brothers, James Curtis Allen, Norman Allen, Luther Allen, Millard Allen and Herbert Allen. Surviving are her children, Carlton (Teresa) Benton, Jr. of Florence and Jenelle Benton Poston of Effingham; seven grandchildren, Skyler Poston, Karen (David) Robinson, Karla Benton, Kimberly (Matt) Winburn, Kelly (Ronnie) Knight, Danielle (Cam) DeVaney and Chasity Carter; eleven great-grandchildren and sister, Kate Allen Powers of Florence. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
