Barbara E. Laney

Barbara E. Laney, 78, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Mrs. Laney was born in Hartsville, SC, the daughter of the late Emma Gertrude Outlaw Lowe and Lawrence E. Lowe. She was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and loved family, friends and fishing.

Surviving are her husband, Colvin Cornwall Laney; daughter, Tammie Hopkins Rickenbacker (Robert) of Holly Hill, SC; sons, Joel Ray Hopkins (Jil) of Holly Hill, SC and Jason Laney (Sissy) of Bishopville, SC; eight grandchildren, Cooper, Grayson, Lanie, Ashby, Brett, Jack, Caroline and Trey; four great-grandchildren and sister, Jean Lowe Broadway of Bishopville, SC.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Florence Baptist Temple directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Florence National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCoy Nursing Home, 207 Chappell Drive, Bishopville, SC 29010.
