Ashley Garrett Messick

Ashley Garrett Messick, 46, of Florence, South Carolina, passed away on September 20, 2025.

Born and raised in Florence, Garrett was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Messick; his brother, Tripp (Ruth) Messick; and his aunt and uncle, Nancy and Ron Kinlaw. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellison Messick, Jr.

Garrett was an Eagle Scout and a proud Mason, committed to service, tradition, and community. He graduated from Francis Marion University with a degree in physics and math. He was also a member of Saint Paul Church of Florence, South Carolina. He worked at SIMCO Electronics in the Richardson, Texas area, where he contributed to calibration and repair services. He was known for his love of strategy games, especially Magic: The Gathering, and for the deep bond he shared with his dog, Ella, who brought him great joy. His quick wit, kind heart, and loyal nature will be remembered by all who knew him.

Garrett will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
