Arvid D Jordan

Arvid D. Jordan, 76, of Effingham, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Jordan was born in Florence County, a son of the late Dudley Jordan and Corene Lee Jordan.He was a member of Elim Bapitst Church where he served for a number of years as a Deacon. Mr. Jordan retired as a warehouse supervisor from Baxter Travenolafter thirty-four years of service.He was a veteran of the US Air Force. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Merlene Wiggins and his brother, Rolphe Jordan. Surviving are his loving wife of fifty-two years, Eula Inez Smiley Jordan; his sons, Mark (Freida) Jordan of Effingham and Brett (Lori) Jordan of Florence; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sylvia Crowley of Florence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Elim Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Elim Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
