Arthur William "Billy" Coleman

Arthur William “Billy” Coleman, 68, of Pamplico, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Mr. Coleman was born on May 1, 1950 in Georgetown, SC, a son of the late Douglas Eugene Coleman, Sr. and Ruby Marie Cameron Coleman.Billy grew up in Pamplico, SC and graduated from Hannah-Pamplico High School in 1969.He attended Francis Marion College in Florence while also working full time at J.P. Stevens & Co. before beginning his career with the US Postal Service.He took a break from the Postal Service in order to serve in the US Air Force towards the end of the Vietnam Era.Billy eventually worked his way up to be Station Manager of the West Florence Post Office, a position from which he retired in 2002. Billy is preceded in death by his parents and by his second wife, Melissa Land Coleman. Surviving are his first wife, Connie Jean Carnell Weaver of Evergreen and their two sons, Jeffery William Coleman of Alcolu, SC and Christopher Troy Coleman of Evergreen; his son with Melissa, Richard Kyle Coleman (Lauren) of Effingham; grandchildren, Shannon Maria Coleman, Samantha Paige Coleman and Ryleigh Michelle Coleman; brothers, Douglas E. “Gene” Coleman, Jr. of Eureka, CA and Donald Richard Coleman of Pamplico; sister, Aletha Anne Coleman Marsh of Pamplico; several nephews and one great niece. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
