Arnold Leo Bonnett

Arnold Leo Bonnett, 78, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Bonnett was born a son of the late Ruth Lawrentz Bonnett and Leo W. Bonnett.He retired as an engineer from Amtrak after twenty-six years in the railroad industry. Mr. Bonnett was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Peace Church.He loved hunting and tinkering with old cars. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Dean Bonnett and Billy Kahn Bonnett. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, June Turner Bonnett; children, Jacques Jay Bonnett (Kaila) of Loris, SC, Crystal Hickson (Rusty) of Lamar, SC and Kimberly Mahek (Matt) of Effingham, SC; grandchildren, Trenton and Reece Bonnett of Loris, SC, Addie and Baileigh Faircloth of Loris, SC, Evan, Karley, Brodie and Cade Hickson of Lamar, SC and Emily Mahek of Effingham, SC; and his sister, Anne Miller (Jerome) of Sandyville, WV. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 on Monday, January 27, 2020, at Peace Church.Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
