Archie Venroe Rhodes

Archie Venroe Rhodes, 88, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Mr. Rhodes was born a son of the late Frank Monroe Rhodes, Sr. and Roxie Driggers Rhodes. He was a veteran of the US Army.He worked in the banking industry for over fifty years.He worked with Bank of Florence, was a past President of Johnsonville State Bank and retired in 2014 as Vice-President of Anderson Brothers Bank. Mr. Rhodes was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and past member of Johnsonville Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Frank Monroe Rhodes, Jr, Ronald Doward Rhodes and Raymond Rhodes Fenters; and his sister, Lona Mae Yarborough. Mr. Rhodes is survived by wife, Virginia “Ginny” T. Rhodes; sisters, Donnie Weaver of Olanta and Bobbie Jean Harris (Dan) of Florence; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Lake City Memorial Park directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, McLeod Hospice House or to Carolinas Hospital Systems.
