ARCHIE MORRIS BOYLAN, 84, of Florence, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 1, 2013. Mr. Boylan was born in Hilton, NY.He was a Veteran of WWII and fought in Korea in the Inchon Landing and the Chosen Reservoir where he was 1 of 16 survivors out of 160 troops that were not seriously injured or killed. He retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1966 after twenty years of service. He moved to Florence in 2006 where God brought him and his beloved wife together for the final years of his life.Mr. Boylan was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple and very much enjoyed working in his yard, refurbishing their house and being active in the Florence Baptist Temple Seniors Sunday School Class with his wife. He is survived by his wife of six years, Linda Jones Boylan; daughter, Debora (John) Cosco of East Rochester, NY; son, LaVern Boylan of Upstate NY; granddaughters, Chelsea Cosco and Kaylee Cosco; his brother, Laverne Boylan of CA; step-children, Shari (Tom) Jones Bowker, April Renee Jones, and JoAnne (Matt) Jones Evans; and three step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Archie Hammond and Frances Avel Boylan, he was preceded in death by his sons, Gregg Boylan and John Boylan, and six siblings. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the Chapel of Florence Baptist Temple. Interment, with Military Honors, will be private at the Florence National Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 PM on Tuesday at the church.
