Annie Ruth Kirby Snipes Florence, SC Annie Ruth Kirby Snipes, 83, of Florence, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 in a local hospital. Mrs. Snipes was born in Darlington, a daughter of the late Leland and Eva Mae Welch Kirby. She was a sewing machine operator with Florence Manufacturing Company for over 26 years. Mrs. Snipes attended Truth Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Snipes is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Preston Snipes, who was founder and owner of Snipes Used Cars; an infant son, Alton Everett Snipes; and a brother, Robert Kirby. Mrs. Snipes is survived by two daughters, Linda S. (Glen) Dubose of Scranton, and Marilyn Hanna of Florence; a brother, Fred (Nibia) Kirby of Darlington; two sisters, Marie Streett of Florence, and Betty Sturkie of Darlington; a grandson, Kris Dubose; a granddaughter, Jodie Moore; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Moore, Jordan Moore, and Logan Moore; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Florence Dialysis Center for their care of Mrs. Snipes during her three years of kidney dialysis.
