ANNIE POPE KIRBY FLORENCE, SC ANNIE POPE KIRBY, 90, of Florence, SC passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Carolinas Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Kirby was born in Columbia, SC a daughter of the late Charlie Burrell Pope and Elizabeth Barrett Pope.She was a charter member of Unity Baptist Church and a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club.She had worked for Southern Bell as an operator and enjoyed touring the country in a motor home. Surviving are her sons, Robert C. (Melissa) Kirby, Jr., Michael James Kirby and Johnny Dargan Kirby, all of Florence; daughters, Sandra (Kurtz) Klinefelter of Wilmington, NC and Gayle (Keith) Jones of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Betty White of West Columbia; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church, 2990 Pamplico Highway, Florence, SC29505. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 14, 2013 at Unity Baptist Church.Entombment will follow in the Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 PM Monday prior to the service at the church.
