Born under the Southern sun of Florence County, South Carolina, on April 7, 1941, Anna Hicks Isgett, was a radiant beacon of creativity and generosity. She was a spirited woman who lived her life with the kind of passion that leaves a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Anna was a woman of remarkable accomplishments and talents. After graduating from Pamplico High School, she attended cosmetology school, later in life, she pursued her passion for interior decorating, generously sharing her talents with those around her. Her creativity also blossomed in her position as a secretary at E.I. DuPont, until her retirement in 2002 after 35 years of service. After retirement, Anna continued to serve her community, working at Powers Funeral Home from 2006-2019. In her free time, she was an outstanding gardener and great hostess, creating beautiful spaces for family and friends to enjoy. Anna was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Camden, where she sang in the choir.
Family was the compass that guided Anna's life, and it was this love and devotion that defined her. Married to her beloved husband, George David Isgett, since June 6, 1960, their partnership was one of mutual respect, love, and laughter. Anna was preceded in death by her father and mother, Luther Mixon Hicks and Pearl Conyers Hicks.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Isgett; sister, Rebecca (John) Gaster; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, L.B. Hicks, Larry Hicks, Roy Hicks, Alva Hicks, James Hicks, Tommy Hicks, and Clarence Hicks; and sisters, Barbara Brunson, Bonnie Ruth Eaddy, and Elsie Carnell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12:00pm at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MUSC Kershaw Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
