Andrew Berkeley "AB" Calcutt, Jr. Effingham, SC Andrew Berkeley "AB" Calcutt, Jr., 80, of Effingham, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at his home after an illness. Mr. Calcutt was born July 3, 1932 in Pamplico a son of the late Andrew Berkeley Calcutt, Sr. and Pauline Gibson Calcutt Adams.He was employed with Western Auto for 18 years until the closing of the Florence location, he then worked for Florence County Public Works and after his retirement from Willis Construction Company, he was the owner and operator of Debris Removal Services.He was a charter member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the West Florence VFD, a member of the Howe Springs VFD, a Special Deputy for the Florence County Sheriff's Office under Sheriff Billy Barnes and Sheriff Jimmy Gregg and had also worked as a crossing guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters, Mary Joyce and Baby Ann; one infant son, Andrew Benson; granddaughter, Angela Denise Moore and an elder brother, John H. Calcutt. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Winnie Haynes Calcutt; four children, Bonnie and Richard Jenks of Mobile, Alabama, Barbara and Thomas Moore of Florence, Andy and Rhonda Calcutt of Effingham and Michael and Kimberly Calcutt of Effingham; four grandchildren, Thomas Paul Moore of Florence, Stephen Brian Moore and his wife Jodie of Florence, Michael Andrew "Andy" Calcutt and Julie Elizabeth Calcutt of Effingham; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Logan Moore, all of Florence; sister, Edna Calcutt Young and her husband, Shady, of Easley; sister-in-law, Mary Calcutt of Florence as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Mr. Calcutt's granddaughter, Julie, http://www.cff.org/GreatStrides/MichaelCalcutt or to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Peace Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Mt. Elon Cemetery in Pamplico directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
