Alice Long Abernethy Rentz

Alice Long Abernethy Rentz, 80, died on December 06, 2013, at McLeod Hospital.She was born on January 26, 1933 in Gauley Bridge, WV to the late Henry Greene Abernethy and Ocie Belle Long Abernethy.She graduated Williamston, SC High School in 1951 and attended a one year secretarial program at Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, NC.She was married on January 2, 1953 to Dr. William D. Rentz. Mrs. Rentz leaves to mourn her passing:her husband, Dr. William D. Rentz, daughter Kathryn R. (Richard) Clark of Knoxville, TN, son James H. Rentz of O’Fallon, MO, son W. Andrew (Debbie) Rentz of Rock Hill, SC, grandsons Gregory U. (Kristi) Clark of Orlando, FL, Phillip W. (Katy Pat) Clark of Brentwood, TN, granddaughter, Stephanie A. Rentz of Gastonia, NC, great-granddaughters Maddie and Lola Clark of Orlando, FL, Allison and Shannon Clark of Brentwood, TN, sister Kathryn (Ted Mills) Jane Walker of New Braunfels, TX, and very special pet, Cookie.Special thanks are given to Dr. Harry Allen, III and the medical professionals at Carolinas Hospital, McLeod Hospital and The Heritage Home, especially Charles and Abby. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Quinby United Methodist Church, where Mrs. Rentz and her family were charter members 45 years ago.Visitation will be noon – 2:00 pm at the church.Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm, with entombment immediately following at Mount Hope Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quinby United Methodist Church, 1247 E.
