Alice Faye Harrelson Florence, S.C. Alice Faye Harrelson entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 30, 2012.She was the beloved wife of Richard Harrelson and the daughter of the late Alton and GuyEula Fogle of Orangeburg County. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lavern Fogle of Orangeburg County. Mrs. Harrelson was born June 2, 1940 in Neeses, S.C.. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1958 and went on to graduate from Columbia Commercial College, where she met her husband. She was a secretary/bookkeeper for many years, and later owned and operated a decorative painting and craft store, "Tole'N Timber" in Florence, where she taught decorative painting. She also worked for H & R Block for many years as a seasonal tax preparer. At the time of her retirement, she was employed by Florence School District One, where she was a school bookkeeper. Her hobbies were decorative painting, gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Harrelson was born and raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Her lifelong priorities were her Christian Faith and her family. At church, she was pleased to serve as organist, pianist and member of the choir. After retirement, she also enjoyed working in Bible School and various ministries of the church. Alice leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 52 years, a daughter, Tamela H. (Harry) Hewitt of Mount Pleasant; 2 sons; Richard Dean (Michelle) Harrelson of Goose Creek and William "Bill" Harrelson of Timmonsville. She is also survived by 5 beloved grandchildren; Logan, Mary-Margaret and Will Hewitt of Mount Pleasant, and Katy Alyce and James Dean Harrelson of Goose Creek; and a sister, Glenda (Don) Lindler of Orangeburg, and several cousins, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home in Florence, followed by a committal service in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3320 S. Cashua Drive, Florence. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home and also following the committal service at the Mausoleum. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Santee Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Davis Station, S.C. 29041, or to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. North, Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29577.
