Alice Faye Gainey Young

Faye Gainey Young Florence, SC Faye Gainey Young, 54, went to be with her Savior early Thursday morning, June 28, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Young was born in Florence County, SC, a daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Alice McElveen Gainey. She graduated from West Florence High School, Class of 1975. She attended the University of South Carolina at Aiken and later was employed as a nurse with Richland Memorial, McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence General and Florence area Nursing Homes. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. She was a beloved sister and aunt. Surviving are a sister, Carol (Scott) Blaker of Florence; brother, John H. (Sue Anne) Gainey of Florence; niece, Taylor Blaker, nephew, Walt Blaker and niece, Angela (Michael) Bell and their children, Morgan (Richard) Strickland and Amber Bell.
