Alice Darline Weatherford

Alice Darline Weatherford, 76, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Mrs. Weatherford was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late Jay Matthews and Wilrma Morris Matthews Coates. She had been a member of First Free Will Baptist Church for 45 years. Darline was much more than a housewife, she was a loving and kind wife, mother, nana, sister and dear friend. She was the peace that held our family together. Darline loved her daughters so very much. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although our hearts are breaking hers is now healed. She can now celebrate her 60th wedding anniversary with the love of her life in heaven. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Tereasa Weatherford, Julee Morris and Kimberly Weatherford, all of Florence; brothers, Sonny (Nancy) Matthews, Bobby (Irma) Matthews, Billy Matthews, Ronnie (Debbie) Matthews; sisters, Margaret (Foster) Sanders, Sue (Jeff) Toler and Debbie Threadgill; grandchildren, Jennifer Doyle, Jason Cooke, Jonathan (Samantha) Cooke, Ben (Nicki) Mitchell, Brittney (Paige) Hinson, Madison (Dustin) Revell and Gunner Lee; great-grandchildren, Sidney Cooke, Imogen Cooke, Noah Cooke, Sebastian Cooke, Dalten King, Kallie Jordan, Gray Langston and Will Mitchell; and a very special friend, Victoria Harrington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Charlie Weatherford; son, George Donald Weatherford; great-granddaughter, Evyn Mitchell; brothers, Pee Wee Matthews, Pender Matthews and Doug Coates. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2017, at First Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
