Alice B. Coleman, 83, of Summerville, SC, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Mrs. Coleman was born in Florence Co., SC a daughter of the late Silas Broach and Janie Locklear Broach.She was a graduate from McClenaghan High School and was a member of Summerville Baptist Church.She cherished her primary role as homemaker and raising her family.She was a true southern lady focusing on discipline, manners and etiquette.Mrs. Coleman loved spending time at her home in Summerville with family and friends. She was blessed with a “green thumb” and her beautiful gardens were tenderly cared for.She was also a wonderful cook and shared many meals with those who came to her house.If you dropped by, you left with a plate of food. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sons, Jerry DeLeon Coleman and Glenn Martin Coleman; brother, Henry Broach and sisters, Earline Moore and Judith Jeffcoat. She is survived by her husband, Edward Coleman of Summerville, SC; sons, Ray Coleman of Summerville and Russell (Jennifer) Coleman of Columbia; daughter, Wanda Coleman (Bryan) LeNoir of Summerville; grandchildren, Stephan Coleman, Samantha Coleman, Kimberly Craven, Joshua Coleman, Caroline Coleman, Price LeNoir, Peyton LeNoir, Glenn Martin Coleman, Jr., and Allyson Coleman; great-grandchildren, Ryan Jacob Coleman, Stephanie Coleman, Gracie Craven, Lyndsey Craven, and Levi Coleman, and a brother, Hamer Broach of Florence. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am.Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
