James Edward "Ed" Nealey

November 10, 1945 — May 21, 2019

James Edward “Ed” Nealey, 73 of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Nealey was born the son of the late Allie Anderson Collins and Carlie Nealey.He attended Gospel Temple Worship Center.Mr. Nealey loved drag racing, fishing, weight lifting and body building. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Carl Nealey and Rickey Nealey; and his in-laws, Jessie and Doris Goodman; Shirley Warren and Cecil Goodman. He is survived by his wife, Libby Nealey; his sons, Eddie Nealey (Melanie) of Timmonsville and Christian Nealey (Katelyn Odom) of Florence; daughters, Faye Llewellyn (Bill) of Darlington and Taylor Nealey of Columbia; grandchildren, Heather Nealey, Brianna Nealey, Michael Nealey, Brian Nealey and Lauren Nealey; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, David Nealey (Janie) and Curtis Nealey (Frankie), both of Florence; sisters, Mary Adams (Carl) and Wanda Gainey (Randy Osborne), both of Florence and Faye Woods (Hobie) of Tabor City, NC; several nieces and nephews that he loved very much; and his extended family and friends, Linda McMillian and Jerry Warren.The family sends special thanks to Ronald Goodman for the visits in Charleston. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2019, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Hicks Cemetery in Coward.
