On July 28, 1988, Amber Kathleen Hemmingsen was born in Florence County to Dave and Rilla Hemmingsen. On September 9, 2014, her heavenly mansion was finished and God turned on the lights at 8:50 a.m. and Amber went to be with her heavenly father… Amber is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James W. Dickerson, and her paternal grandfather, Donald L. Hemmingsen. Amber was a District Recruiter for Girl Scouts of America.She was an Autism Awareness Advocate and a member of NewSpring Church. In addition to her parents, surviving are her sons, Ayden Atkinson and Joseph Atkinson, both of Myrtle Beach; her brothers, Derek (Melanie) Hemmingsen and Daniel (Michelle) Hemmingsen; her niece, Jordyn Hemmingsen; her maternal grandmother, Kathleen Dickerson; her paternal grandparents, Betty and Charles Martin, all of Florence; her God Parents, Lynn and Bill Kennedy of Timmonsville; her boyfriend, Glenn Vause and his children, Parker Vause, Tanner Vause, Gracsen Vause and Reagan Vause, all of Florence; and precious aunts, uncles and cousins that love her. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014, at St. Paul United Methodist Church.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be given to the Autism School Program at Theodore Lester Elementary, 3501 E Palmetto Street, Florence, SC 29506 or to NewSpring Church, 2011-C Second Loop Road, Florence, SC29501 (please note on check in memory of Amber).
