Peter George Sieler

Peter George Sieler,74, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015. He is survived by his sister and husband, Gladys and Jim Neeley; nephew, Russell Neeley and a number of cousins. Pete is deceased by his parents, Robert Sieler and Helen Huether. Pete had been involved in Broadcast Television for more than fifty-six years. He managed radio stations and print marketing over his career span, which included TV stations in Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming and Southern California. During this time, he had orchestrated the build out and operation of 8 TV stations from the ground up, most recently the Palm Springs CBS affiliate, which later became a FOX affiliate. Since March 1999, Pete worked as an Advertising Sales Executive for WFXB FOX-TV’s Florence office, which handles sales for the Florence/Pee Dee area of South Carolina, as well as much of southeastern North Carolina.Pete served for over five years on the FOX Sales Advisory Committee. In addition to his work in TV Broadcasting, he was very involved in Florence community activities especially with Florence Chamber of Commerce.Among the various committees on which he served, he chaired the Building Bridges Committee which sought to increase the understanding among diverse groups in the business community. Among his many accomplishments, Pete served for over five years on the FOX Sales Advisory Committee and was most recently serving as Chairman of the Building Bridges Committee of the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce. Up until the time of his passing, Pete was the featured columnist for www.TVRadioMovies.com, “TV Radio and Movies, then and now ….”. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 Friday, June 19, 2015, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
